The signs of Jesus are the most extraordinary. They form one of the central topics in the Fourth Gospel especially from the Book of Signs. The signs of Jesus like his teaching provoke both belief and unbelief. Rejection of signs on the basis of pretended claims to know the truth is culpable. The signs of Jesus are the Work of the Father, revealing the Father in Jesus. They are mentioned, so that those who have not seen and who are not in a position to prove by examining for themselves, may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God and that believing they may have life in his name. Signs of Jesus tell us that God’s power is a present reality not only in time and history but also in our own daily human experience.
