Archbishop Terrence Prendergast holds a B.A. from Fordham University, as well as Master of Divinity and Doctor of Theology degrees from the Toronto School of Theology and a Licentiate in Theology from Regis College, Toronto. He taught at the Atlantic School of Theology (1975-81), was Rector (1981-87) and Dean of Theology (1991-94) at Regis College and was visiting Professor at the Ecole Biblique in Jerusalem in 1995. In addition to his role as bishop, Archbishop Prendergast has lectured and given retreats across Canada, in the United States and in Rome.      Living God’s Word: Reflections on the Sunday Readings for Year C (the third of three volumes) explores the readings of the liturgical year of Luke. Author Terrence Prendergast, S.J., Archbishop of Ottawa and a noted scripture scholar, offers an in-depth introduction to Luke‘s Gospel and gives valuable suggestions on how to prepare for Sunday Mass using the readings. Archbishop Prendergast has updated the text, which was originally written as columns in The Catholic Register, Canada’s national Catholic newspaper, to reflect the new lectionary and the understanding of Scripture that emerged from the 2008 Synod of Bishops on Scripture. These careful and thoughtful reflections on the Sunday readings offer readers fresh insights into the land and the people of the Bible, which can help shed light on our lives today.
