On the Silver Jubilee of the promulgation of the Conciliar “Decree on the Church’s Missionary Activity” (Vatican Council II) the CBCI Commission for Evangelization undertook a massive survey of mission dynamics in India. And it was an historic event as the first ever research by the Catholic Church. The opinions and views collected from nearly 15,000 respondents — priests, nuns and laity — from 40 sample dioceses form the content of this book. And the discovery of emerging mission theology is a challenging invitation to construct a relevant missionlogy for India where around 97% of Indians find their salvation outside the Christian economy of redemption.
