Work and Workers is a layman’s guide and a practical handbook as it explains the sanctity of human labour and the dignity of labour itself. The author, quoting various encyclicals and documents of the Church, describes various concepts which will be helpful to an ordinary person to understand the intricacies of labour. The book is aimed at creating awareness among people of their duty towards the various categories of workers and thus become more sensitive to the work situations and conditions of workers in the world today. The author, who had served as the Secretary of the Labour Commission of the CBCI for many years, has a natural affinity for expressing solidarity with the workers and has thus dedicated himself unflinchingly to their cause. This book is a natural outcome of his commitment to service to the poor.
