It was a joyful moment for the Nigerian- Ghana region of the Society of St Paul on Sunday, 3rd of July 2022, as Bro Valentine Obumkaneme and Bro Michael Muogbo were conferred the sacramental ministry of the diaconate by His Grace Most Rev GabrielLekeAbegunrin, Archbishop of Ibadan, at the community chapel in Ibadan. The Archbishopin his homily admonished the candidates to approach the diaconate ministry with simplicity and humility; he added that obedience was also very important in exercising the ministry. Hefurther told them to live exemplary lives and to be prayerful at all times.The turnout was impressive. Rev Fr Peter, the superior of the community, welcomed the gathering and Rev Michael Muogbo gave the vote of thanks. The mass was followed by a simple celebration and lunch in the hall.We congratulate Rev Valentine Obumkaneme and Rev. Michael Muogbo and wish them joy and fulfilment as they carry out the diaconate ministry.
