GUIDELINES FOR VOCATION PROMOTION

  • Mandatory visit to the family and the parish priest of the candidate before recruitment.
  • Conduct our own vocation camp for a day or two.
  • Focus on recruiting student who has completed plus two.
  • Ensure that the candidate has scored minimum 50% marks in 10th or +2 and has passed in all subjects.
  • Candidate should be free of all canonical impediments.

 

Documents to Be Obtained:

  • Recommendation letter from the Parish Priest.
  • Letter of Permission” from the Bishop for any candidate from Syro-Malabar and Syro-Malankara Rites for joining the Society of St Paul.
  • Original certificates of Baptism, Confirmation, First Communion, SSC, Plus Two, T.C., Conduct and Medical certificate.
  • Aadhar Card.

 

Information to the candidate and his family about:

  • the years of formation and where they are likely to be held.
  • the subjects taught during intermediate studies.
  • the expenses: medical, travel, stationery, intermediate fees, etc., have to be met by the candidate until novitiate.
  • Holidays: first year aspirant will have a Christmas break for 10 days and a summer break for 30 days.
  • the Aspirants’ Summer Meet (ASM) for 3 weeks.
  • Students will receive basic training in computers, communication, music, etc., during the initial years of formation and specialization during and after graduate studies.
  • Students are not allowed to bring along or possess personal mobiles, I-pads, laptops and similar electronic gadgets during the period of formation.
  • Phone calls are permitted on Sundays and Birthdays and in case of emergencies.
  • The cash the candidates bring from home will be kept with the master in-charge and a proper account will be maintained.

Criterion for Admission

Only those candidates who show a certain maturity in the human, moral, spiritual and intellectual sphere will be admitted to Aspirancy. Besides, their physical and psychic aptitudes, intention and motive, willingness to dedicate themselves to the Lord through the Pauline religious life are also taken into account.

The moral and religious standard of the family of the candidate are to be studied well. The background in which he has grown, the company of friends he is associated with, etc., are of paramount importance.
