CELEBRATING GOD’S GOODNESS: A Family Reunion.
Like a union forged with blessed touch the Society of St. Paul Nigeria- Ghana Region, the Daughters of St Paul and the community of God’s faithful, were weaved together in prayer, thanksgiving and blissful celebration. The 25th of May 2025 marked a remarkable celebration that; concluded the joint retreat of the perpetually professed members of the SSP and FSP, the golden jubilee celebration of Rev. Fr Francis Maniamkerry, SSP.
In a bid for spiritual growth, self- reflection in love and unity the SSP and FSP held a joint retreat which began on the 19th and ended on the 23rd of May, this spiritual exercise was followed by a joint Apostolic meeting, with the theme: Communicating the Gospel of Hope through listening and collaboration. The meeting was aimed at reinforcing the shared Pauline mission and cultivating a spirit of loving and authentic discipleship through collaboration. In this spirit members agreed on using the greeting; “Dare Jesu Almondo, via verita e vita" as an official greeting as a constant reminder of our Pauline mission.
As under an atmosphere of thanksgiving joy and family union, the air hummed with a thousand laughter, as generations of God’s faithful gathered in testimonial witnessing on the 25th for the priestly golden jubilee of Fr. Francis Maniamkerry, SSP and Mass with the Pauline Family.
This event had the presence of all the priests of the society of St. Paull Nigeria-Ghana Region and the Daughters of St Paul, temporary professed members from Ibadan community and other religious men and women. It was a celebration of God’s abundant goodness, mercy and graces. Fifty years of service in the Lord’s vineyard, with lips ever ready to proclaim and feet never weary to journey, the love for our Father St. Paul is the strength that keeps his heart beating. It was indeed a family union said the homilist. In his homily Fr, Gerard reflected on the unity of the family in love and growth. The love that doesn’t succumb to division and distractions within and outside but holds onto the peace of Christ, to grow in the likeness of Christ, a peace no one can give. In his closing remarks the celebrant and jubilant thanked God for the journey thus far and all who were present.
